Every year at least 5% of the population struggles with depressive symptoms like sadness, loss of energy, changes in appetite, and lack of interest in usual activity, related to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a type of depression brought on by the fewer daylight hours of winter. A great way to combat the emotional and psychosocial challenges that many people face this time of year is to do little things that get us outside and moving around and staying connected with others!
